Mother

In the beginning God created heaven and earth.

Through the sound of Her travail, she birthed life into the void.

From the waters of Her womb, is all of life sustained.

I wonder, when God was a woman, was the foundation

more stable?

Did creation exist in greater harmony?

Mother is the cornerstone of creation.

From Her womb, nations were birthed.

In the homes of mothers, tomorrow's leaders are shaped.

Motherhood and creation in cohesive flow.

The weight of the world rests squarely on mothers' shoulders;

yet many societies confine her to a subordinate role.

It's time we call down the wisdom of The Mother.

Close up of a watercolor portrait, focusing on the face of a woman. The woman has a contemplative and strong expression, with her lips slightly parted and eyes looking off into the distance. She wears a deep purple headwrap and large gold hoop earrings, adding to her regal and dignified appearance. The use of blue, green, and purple hues gives the painting a mystical and ethereal quality, emphasizing the woman's serene and powerful presence. The details in her face are carefully rendered, highlighting her features and conveying a sense of wisdom and inner strength.

It's in the echo of her song:

Wade in the water

Wade in the water, children

Wade in the water.

God's gonna trouble the water.

It's in the anointing of her blessed oil

and in the ritual of her nightly prayers.

Find her power to destroy the yoke as you walk the floor on your family's behalf.

Embody her artful ability to adapt and bend her environment to her will.

Close up watercolor portrait featuring an elderly black woman. She has a thoughtful expression, with her eyes focused forward. The woman wears glasses and a teal headwrap, which contrasts with her deep blue and purple-toned skin. Her lips are slightly pursed, and her face is detailed with expressive lines, highlighting her age and the wisdom she carries. The gold hoop earrings she wears add a touch of elegance. The vibrant colors and detailed brushwork emphasize the depth of her character and the richness of her experience.

It's time to cast down the strongholds that have kept you bound.

Our grandmothers shout for us to raise the standard as the enemy comes in like a flood.

They say, "The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy."

But we are not left without a way of escape.

We must only slow down and listen.

Our gifts stir within us.

Watercolor close up depicting two women. The woman on the left is older with glasses and a teal headwrap, while the woman on the right is younger with a purple headwrap. Both women wear gold hoop earrings, and the artwork features rich shades of blue and purple, highlighting their serious expressions.

The still small voice calls us to the secret place.

Seek ye first the kingdom that lives within.

The rest shall be added unto you.

The mothers yearn for the manifestation of the daughters of God.

They intercede on our behalf--conjuring the elevation of our souls.

They asked me to tell you that they are waiting.

They said, "We will see you at the crossroads."
